Do I need a website if I have a Facebook page?
Plenty of good businesses run on a Facebook page alone. It's free and your customers are already there. But a page and a website do different jobs, and relying only on the page has real limits.
You don't own the page
Your Facebook page lives under Facebook's rules. Features change, reach changes, and accounts get locked or restricted, sometimes by mistake. A website on your own domain is an address you control and can move.
People search before they call
When someone searches for a service in their area, they see websites, maps listings and directories. A clear website with your services, area and phone number gives them somewhere to land that answers their questions without logging in to anything.
A website answers the same questions every time
Your page's best information scrolls away under new posts. A website keeps the essentials in one fixed place:
- What you do and what it starts at
- Where you work
- How to reach you, with a tap-to-call number
- Proof you're real: photos of your work, your hours, how you handle quotes
Keep both
The answer isn't website instead of Facebook. Post on Facebook to stay in front of people; link to your website where they decide. A simple site doesn't need to cost a monthly fee: simple a site. is $129 once, with covered hosting at $0 for ordinary service-business sites (domain separate).
