Just formed an LLC? Your website checklist for week one

Short answer: In week one: register your domain, put up a simple site that says what you do, where you work and how to reach you, and connect it to your Google Business Profile. Skip anything with a monthly fee you don't need yet.

Forming an LLC comes with a long to-do list. The website should be one of the quick ones. Here is what to do in week one and what can wait.

1. Claim your domain

Register yourbusiness.com, or the closest version you can get, at any registrar. It usually costs about $10 to $20 a year. Use the same name everywhere: your LLC paperwork, your email, your website.

2. Put up a simple site

  • What you do, in plain words.
  • Your towns or service area.
  • Phone, email and a contact form.
  • Photos of your work (sample photos are fine until you have your own).
  • One clear button: call, request a quote, or book.

3. Get on Google

Create your free Google Business Profile and add your website address to it. That is how most people will find you when they search for your service nearby.

4. Watch the monthly bills

New businesses pile up small subscriptions fast. A website does not have to be one of them. simple a site. is $129 once for one business website, with covered hosting at $0 and the domain separate. You can see your homepage free before you pay. Covered hosting includes the built-in menus, shops, bookings and order requests; large stores with inventory systems, memberships and custom apps may need another solution.
